So I was recently asked to touch up this photograph and thought it was super interesting to look at. The original was foam core matted and was 16"x20" in size. I scanned it in on a standard 11x17 copier and pieced the images together.
Its interesting to think about what life must've been like back then....

That is pretty cool. Is that the building on Otter - sort of looks like a different location. When I used to work at the library it was neat to work with all the old local history stuff. If you ever dare to go to Dirtball Daze there are lots of folks who sell old photos and postcards of old downtown Oshkosh. You know, when people actually thought downtown was an exciting place to be.
Yep! Thats the Otter Avenue building... ITs really quite interesting because the building now has 4 floors, but the one in the pic has only 3! So at some point they added an ENTIRE FLOOR to the existing building. I dont know much about construction but that seems rather... well strange!
We usually avoid Saw Dust Days, the crowds, the odor, lol says it all!
Our neighbor's aunt owned her house up until her death at age 98? (I think) and she remembers stories that she could tell about what our street was like back in her youth. Apparently our kitchen was once a pig farm.
(Not much has changed lol)
